A New Addiction In Downtown Fullerton!

Yummy Gelato FlavorsI have some friends that for the past five years or so have gone to Italy every summer.  I haven’t been able to make it to Italy with them but one thing they constantly raved about (amongst many) was GELATO!

I guess you had to try it to understand it.  Lucky for me, I didn’t have to got to Italy, (though that would have been nice) It came to me, right here in little ol’ Fullerton!

Frati Gelato Cafe opened late 2007 and I really didn’t pay much attention to it until I was recently at the new Mercantile Flea Market in Downtown Fullerton.  It was hot and I needed a cool treat. Plus one of my “Italy” friends had been talking about it.

OH MY GOSH!  One taste and you are hooked.  This is not your mass produced stuff!  The master Gelato Maker spent 20 years in Italy perfecting this science and makes it right ther on site!   This stuff is so rich and creamy that it must be a sin!  Upon further reasearch, I found out that it is not!

It turns out that this Gelato has about 1/3 the fat of ice cream!  It is so creamy and delicious, you can taste the high quality ingredients.  These aren’t your traditional ice cream flavors either.  They change daily and seem like unusual combinations but just ask for a taste and you will soon find that those “unusual flavors” are actually the best ones!

So, since finding this place, I seem to find myself there around three to four times a week.  I can’t help it; Especially since it has been so hot!  Once you walk into this extremely clean and cool place and you instantly feel better.  Then you get that tasty treat in your hand, it’s over.  You really need sit at one of their little tables and enjoy it there.  I am even finding myself making business deals there!  Everyone is happy when they are having Gelato!

Frati Gelato Cafe is located in Downtown Fullerton’s SOCO Disctrict at 122 W. Commonwealth, Fullerton, CA 92832.  www.fratigelatocafe.com

I guess in a world of temptation and bad things we can get addicted to, Gelato is really not such a bad vice! Enjoy!

Fun, Friends and Finds at the Downtown Fullerton Mercantile Flea Market!

Today I attended a new event in Downtown Fullerton, The Mercantile Flea Market.  I believe this was the second or third one. So far and it is off to a great start and sure to be a hit!

While there, so many of my friends and client’s stopped by.  I let everone know about it  as well as sent out an email letting them know that I would be there for the day selling some of my vintage wares - I have lots of collections of this and that and figured this was a good way to purge a little as well as be involved with something downtown.  Plus, I love Flea Markets so I was in!  Who doesn’t love a great find?

It was such a great day and I was so TOUCHED that so many of my friends and clients stopped by to support the new market and me!  Not only did so many people stop by, I met lots of new and interesting people too.

The Fullerton Mercantile Flea Market was the brain child of Sabrina who owns a great new store called Carpe Diem and it is right behind her store on the corner of Harbor and Santa Fe the first Saturday of every month.

The next Mercantile Flea Market will be held on Saturday, July 5th and the hours are from 10:00 to 4:00.  Come on down and see your friends and find a treasure or two!

Seize The Day – Downtown Fullerton – A Fab New Store & A Flea Market Too!

For the past few weeks, I have been seeing this great bright green sign on Harbor on the corner just south of Commonwealth.  I kept trying to slow down to read what it was but it was tough.  All I know is I thought I saw some cool stuff and one day a sign about a FLEA MARKET!

Not only do I love Downtown Fullerton but I love a great Flea Market!  I thought that Fullerton would be the perfect place for one for years!  Now we have it!

The bright green sign was for the store Carpe Diem Experience.  I finally went in there last week and met the owner, Sabrina.  What a nice lady with such a positive and sweet attitude.  Her store is full of all sorts of interesting things from potted plants, to handmade things from local artists to jewelry to home decor, and so much more.  The best part is that her prices are very reasonable.

She also told me about the Flea Market!  It is the first Saturday of the month and is coming up this Saturday, June 7.  It is a good ole’ Mercantile Flea Market complete with vendors, close outs, antiques, surplus music and food!  There is also Free Admission For Happy People!

So head on down to Carpe Diem and the Flea Market located at: 115 S. Harbor Blvd., Saturday, June 7th from 10:00 am to 4:00.

I will be there with my own booth of vintage dresses and accessories.  Stop by, to say hi to some nice people and pick up a treasure while you are at it!
